[Abk. für Multimedia Home Platform, dt. »Multimediaheimplattform«], im Februar 2000 veröffentlichter Standard für die interaktive Breitbandübertragung von Multimediainhalten. Das Ziel von MHP ist die Schaffung eines einheitlichen Marktes für Multimedia-Content im Internet, insbesondere interaktives Fernsehen, digital Broadcasting und Streaming. Hinter MHP steht eine große Gruppe von kommerziellen und öffentlichen Organisationen, z. B. ARD, Bertelsmann, Canal Plus, Deutsche Telekom, DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting), EBU (European Broadcasting Union), GMD-Forschungszentrum Informationstechnik (die ehemalige Gesellschaft für Mathematik und Datenverarbeitung), Grundig, Nokia, ORF, Philips, Pioneer, RTL, SES/Astra, Sony, Sun Microsystems, WDR und ZDF.
